Easter Bunny Eggs

Hop into the colorful world of crochet! These adorable little Easter bunny eggs are the perfect project for your first steps in the world of crochet. The bunny is so easy and quick to make that it is even particularly suitable for children and guarantees a great sense of achievement at the first attempt.

While making up the body, you will learn how to work single crochet stitches in spiral rounds (which is 99% of every amigurumi pattern that you will follow later). For the ears you'll figure out how to crochet a flat piece along a foundation chain. Here's where you'll also gain first experience in making every other basic crochet stitches, such as chain stitch, half double crochet stitch, double and even triple crochet stitches!

And at the end you will have a colorful basket full of cute, handmade bunnies that will bring joy to your Easter nest.

Yarn and Hook Size

It doesn't matter what yarn weight you use for this pattern. Just make sure to adjust the hook size, as well as the size of the safety eyes if choosing a different yarn than the recommended sport weight yarn.

Here's what I used:
Baby weight yarn - size 2 (e.g. Scheepjes Catona, Yarn and Colors Must have, Schachenmeyr Catania)
2.25 mm Crochet Hook
2 black safety toy eyes (ø 5mm)
tapestry needle, pins, scissor, soft stuffing

Finished Size

approx. 10 cm / 4 inch
