Skully's Story
Skully rattles his bones. Night has finally arrived, the perfect time to get up and get to work! Not in one of those ridiculous haunted houses, of course. And certainly not like his cousin Todd, who works as the Grim Reaper. Skully had never been a fan of that whole black-robe-and-scythe look (just too much fabric and that scythe is terribly inconvenient to carry around!).
No, Skully doesn’t need much for his job. Just a few cobwebs, a little dust and a dark corner. He settles comfortably into the shadows of an ancient temple ruin, where pale moonlight slips through cracks in the old walls. This hidden place has always been a favorite among generations of skeletons and, of course, treasure hunters.
In search of legendary treasures, the adventurers bravely make their way through the ruins, carefully looking for clues … until they stumble upon that skeleton in the corner, bathed in eerie moonlight.
A tiny movement, the slightest twitch of a finger. That is usually enough and suddenly, the treasure hunt is over. The explorers come stumbling out of the temple, screaming and very happy to leave all the treasure right where it ever has been.
Skully watches them disappear into the night. He rattles his bones with delight: “Same time tomorrow.” Then he settles back into his corner waiting for the next batch of treasure hunters.
Another successful night on the job as the temple’s night watchman!
