Its common knowledge that crocheting is a beloved craft that transcends language barriers. However, finding crochet patterns in languages other than English can be challenging. Additionally, it can be difficult to understand a pattern written in a foreign language. Therefore, we are excited to introduce the most comprehensive multilingual crochet terms chart ever created in crochet history!
We have collaborated with crocheters worldwide to create a comprehensive list of crochet terms in over 20 languages. We extend our gratitude to all the fabulous helpers who made this possible! Thanks to you our chart now includes translations for
Catalan, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (US & UK terms), Finnish, French, Georgian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, Persian, Polish, Portugues (Latin American & European), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (Latin American & European), Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
The table is not yet finalized, and we are continuously working to complete the remaining empty spaces. We are still in need of an Arabic translation. If you are interested in helping us complete the chat in any way, please let us know. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Our idea was to make crochet accessible to speakers of diverse languages, encouraging more people to pick up their hooks and start creating beautiful projects, regardless of the language they speak.
